Planning Board
Planning for the future of Henderson County is an important task. The Planning Board is established to: (1) conduct studies and develop plans containing recommendations for the future of Henderson County, (2) advise the Board of Commissioners on land use and development, (3) administer regulations regarding the subdivision of land, and (4) review requests for amendments to the Land Development Code and Official Zoning Map. The Planning Board shall adhere to its established Rules of Procedure.

The Planning Board meets the third Thursday of each month at 5:30 PM (unless otherwise noted) in the King Street Meeting Room, located at 100 North King Street, Hendersonville, NC.

Members
The Planning Board consists of nine (9) members who reside in Henderson County and are appointed by the Board of Commissioners. Planning Board members are appointed to serve three (3) year terms. The Planning Department Staff serves as the primary County staff to the Planning Board.

Specific Duties
- Acquire and maintain in current form such basic information and materials as are necessary to an understanding of past trends, present conditions, and forces at work to cause changes in these conditions;
- Prepare and, from time to time, amend and revise a comprehensive and coordinated plan for the physical, social and economic development of the area;
