IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS -Code Changes - Updated 4/23/2012
The 2012 NC Residential Code has been adopted by the NC Building Code Council and given a mandatory effective date of March 1 2012. Any and all residential permits issued March 1, 2012 or thereafter will adhere to the new 2012 NC Residential Code.
Due to a delay in the Building Code Council's approval, the 2012 NCRC books will not be available on or before March 1; Therefore, the NC Department of Insurance has prepared this document which includes the significant changes to the 2009 NC Residential Code that will comprise the 2012 NC Residential Code.
NC Energy Codes will also change March 1, 2012 The new residential energy code requirements are outlined in this this document.
***A combo permit is required for HVAC Change outs and generator installs. The combo permit is $70.00 and includes both the Electrical and Mechanical/Gas permits and the subsequent inspections required. Please use this combo permit application for combo permits.
We cannot accept requests for A.M. or P.M. inspections. All inspections are conducted on the next business day after the request is made. Inspections will occur between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
