Diana Curran

Diana Curran, MD, Medical Director

Dr. Curran is a family physician and has served as the Medical Director of the Henderson County Department of Public Health since 1999. She has been affiliated with the Mountain AHEC as teaching faculty for the Hendersonville Family Medicine Residency Program since 1996. She provides patient care and administrative services for the Henderson County Department of Public Health Clinic Services. She graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1993, and completed her residency at the MAHEC Family Medicine Residency in Asheville. She has completed a fellowship in Faculty Development at the UNC School of Medicine and earned an added certificate in Community Preparedness and Disaster Management from the UNC School of Public Health.

 


Sandra Hibbs

Sandra Hibbs, RN, BSN, WHNP

Sandra Hibbs has been a Board-Certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner at the Henderson County Department of Health since 2009. Her nursing career started in 1973. She received her undergraduate degree at Lake Superior State University in 1981 and her nurse practitioner degree from Planned Parenthood of Milwaulkee, Wisconsin, in 1996. She has worked in public health in many capacities that included the HIV/AIDS prevention in Nevada, measles epidemic in Michigan, and developing high-risk pregnancy programs. She currently provides services for women at the health department, which includes prenatal care, family planning, sexual health, and primary care for adolescents.

 


Julie Peterson

Julie Peterson, FNP

Julie Peterson is a family nurse practitioner and has practiced at the Henderson County Department of Public Health since 2007. Originally from Hendersonville, she earned her bachelor's of science in nursing from Western Carolina University in 2002. She then obtained her master’s of science in nursing from UNC Charlotte in 2006. She is a certified family nurse practitioner and provides primary care for children and adolescents, prenatal care, family planning, and sexual health care.

 

 


Tami Swift

Tami Swift, FNP

After 14 years of being a Registered Nurse, Tami Swift did her family nurse practitioner training in Iowa, completing it in 2007. After a job transfer for her husband, she began her nurse practitioner career in WNC at the Henderson County Department of Public Health. Tami had always wanted to work in public health. She speaks Spanish and English and uses her skills serving clients in public health. She provides primary care services for children and adolescents, prenatal care, family planning, and sexual health care.
