As of April 14, 2003, the Henderson County Department of Public Health implemented the Federal Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule and HIPAA Privacy Policies of Henderson County Government. HIPAA regulates how protected health information about an individual can be used and disclosed and the rights of an individual regarding their medical information and privacy.
