About

Since 1998, Henderson County has provided its citizens with a transfer station for their municipal solid waste and has operated a Recycling Center since 1992. Now with a revised look at Solid Waste management, we are pleased to be expanding our recycling and waste reduction program to be more convenient for the citizens of Henderson County.

Recycling is not just environmentally beneficial, it also economically beneficial. By operating a recycling program we not only keep valuable materials in the marketplace and save landfill space, we generate revenue and help support a growing industry within North Carolina. Responsible waste disposal and reducing environmental impact is something that everyone can participate in. Henderson County encourages everyone to reduce, reuse and recycle, in that order. By doing this, we help conserve resources, cut pollution, reduce our carbon footprint, and save energy.
