Henderson County Flood Damage Prevention Local Program is led by Natalie J. Berry, P.E.

Essential Departmental Functions: Flood Damage Prevention Local Program is responsible for the following for Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance and complaints for all unicorporated areas of Henderson County. The City of Hendersonville, Town of Flat Rock, Village of Laurel Park and Town of Fletcher have their own local program and should be contacted if your property is located in their jurisdiction. The Town of Mills River does not have a local program. The State of North Carolina Flood Insurance Program can assist with questions for the Town of Mills River, the telephone number is (919) 715-5711.

Flood Development Permit for property in the Floodway $100.00 plus expenses
Special Fill Permit application (over 20% fill with required "No Impact" Certification. (Public Hearing Required) $100.00 plus expenses (does not include floodplain development permit)
Variance (Public Hearing Required) Advertising cost only
